Shivaji College, a constituent college of the University of Delhi, recently inaugurated a new skill development centre. The centre will provide students with industry-relevant skills. It aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and job market demands.
Bharat Bhushan Arora served as the chief guest for the inauguration event. Mr. Arora is the Akhil Bharatiya Sah Sampark Pramukh of the RSS and Director of the Udmodhya Committee. Faculty members, students, and representatives from the Udmodhya Committee also attended the ceremony.
Centre’s Purpose and Funding
Virender Bharadwaj, Principal of Shivaji College, addressed the attendees. He highlighted the importance of continuous learning and adaptability in today’s job landscape. Principal Bharadwaj acknowledged support from the University of Delhi. The university sanctioned Rs 8 lakh to fund this initiative. He expressed gratitude, stating this support empowers students with skills for success.

Bharat Bhushan Arora underscored the necessity of expertise. He emphasized that a single degree might not guarantee lifelong sustenance. Mr. Arora provided an example, stating a plumber with expertise could earn more than a coder. He linked this philosophy to Chhatrapati Shivaji.

Abha Vasal, the convenor of the skill development project, commented on the centre’s establishment. She expressed pride that the committee’s vision for a skill centre has materialized.
