New Delhi – The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has opened registration for the NBEMS Diploma Final Examination, December 2025. Candidates must apply by November 26, 2025 . The theory examinations will take place on January 6, 7, and 8, 2026 , at centers across India.

Application Process

Candidates can register for the NBEMS diploma final exam 2025 through the official website,natboard.edu.in. Applicants can apply for both theory and practical exams, or for the practical exam only. The application deadline for both options is November 26, 2025 . The examination fee is Rs 5,250 . This fee applies to candidates taking both theory and practical exams, or only the practical exam. Registered candidates will receive their admit cards on January 2, 2026 . Candidates must bring a printed admit card and a valid photo ID to the exam center.

Exam Pattern Overview

The NBEMS Diploma Final Exam, December 2025, consists of two parts: theory and practical. Candidates must pass the theory examination to qualify for the practical examination. Each stage has specific scoring requirements.

Theory Exam Details

The theory exam includes three question papers. Each paper carries 100 marks, totaling 300 marks for the theory section. Each paper will generally contain 10 short notes, each worth 10 marks. Specific subjects or papers may have variations in the number of short notes or mark distribution. Each paper has a maximum duration of three hours. Candidates must achieve a minimum aggregate score of 150 out of 300 marks across all three papers to pass the theory examination.

Grace marks are available for candidates scoring just below the passing threshold. Up to 6 grace marks (2% of the maximum 300 marks) will be awarded. This applies to candidates scoring between 144 and 149 marks in the theory examination. Only candidates who successfully qualify the theory exam are eligible to appear for the practical examination.

Practical Exam Details

The practical exam carries a maximum of 300 marks. It includes Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) and/or Clinical Examination, along with a Viva component. Candidates must secure a minimum of 150 marks out of 300 to qualify in the practical examination. No grace marks are awarded in the practical exam.

Candidates are allowed a maximum of three attempts to clear the NBEMS Diploma Practical Examination. NBEMS states the first practical examination attempt after qualifying the theory examination will count, regardless of whether the candidate appears for it.
