IIM Ahmedabad launched a new two-year blended MBA program in business analytics and AI. The program targets working professionals and entrepreneurs. It aims to upskill individuals in data-intensive roles. These roles include marketing, finance, operations, supply chain, logistics, legal, IT, and HR.
Program Format
The program combines live online learning with in-person campus sessions. It includes three on-campus modules at IIM Ahmedabad. These modules offer direct interaction with campus faculty and peer networking opportunities.
Curriculum Details
The curriculum covers business management, analytics, and AI. Teaching methods include case-based discussions, capstone engagements, and action-learning projects. The program follows a three-term structure across each of the two years.
- Students can select from 20 specialized areas.
- Options include predictive and prescriptive analytics, product management, and finance and risk management.
- Further areas cover human–AI collaboration, AI ethics, supply chain digitization, Gen AI, and Agentic AI.
Eligibility and Selection
Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in CA, CS, ICWA, CMA, or equivalent in any discipline. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA is required.
Work experience is mandatory. Applicants need three years of full-time experience after a three-year graduation. Alternatively, two years of full-time experience is needed after a four-year graduation. Experience is calculated as of March 31, 2026 .
Selection uses valid CAT, GMAT, or GRE scores from the previous five years. Alternatively, eligible candidates can appear for the IIMA admission test for BPGP: BA and AI. This test is scheduled for December 14, 2025 .
Program Objectives
The MBA program aims to bridge managerial expertise with techno-analytical fluency. IIMA Director Bharat Bhasker stated: “Analytics and AI are at the core of how enterprises compete, innovate and create stakeholder value.” He added the program provides a “rigorous pathway” for managers and entrepreneurs to acquire high-impact skills and master AI-enabled business models.
An official IIM Ahmedabad statement highlighted the program’s teaching method. “IIMA’s distinctive case method will bring real-world strategic, operational and governance dilemmas into the virtual classroom,” it said. This enables learners to apply analytical techniques in business-relevant settings.
The two-year blended program offers a flexible exit option. Students can receive a Post Graduate Diploma after completing the first year.
