About This Scholarship
The ILBS-TATA Fellowship 2020, funded by the Tata Education and Development Trust, is offered by the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS). This fellowship is designed for eminent clinicians and basic scientists globally, as well as young researchers dedicated to the field of regenerative medicine.
The program provides opportunities for two senior and three junior positions, with a duration ranging from 3 to 12 months. Selected fellows will receive monthly remuneration and additional benefits.
Applications for this fellowship are open round the year, offering continuous opportunities for eligible candidates.
Eligibility Criteria
The ILBS-TATA Fellowship offers positions for both senior and junior researchers. Eligibility criteria vary for each category:
For Senior Positions, an applicant must:
• Possess 10+ years of experience in the field of regenerative medicine.
• Can be of any age group.
Note: Senior fellows are expected to mentor and provide research ideas (wisdom) for both ongoing and new research projects within the Institute.
For Junior Positions, an applicant must:
• Possess 5+ years of experience in the field of regenerative medicine.
• Be more than 40 years of age.
Note: Junior fellows will be required to undertake hands-on work in the laboratory or clinics, relevant to their respective fields.

• Bio-sketch: A comprehensive outline of your professional and academic background.
• Research Proposal: A detailed plan outlining your proposed research project, objectives, methodology, and expected outcomes.

For Senior Positions, candidates will be evaluated based on:
• Years of experience.
• Number of research publications in the required field.
• Number of PhD or students supervised in the field of Hepatology and/or Liver regeneration.
• Unique technique or specialized know-how.
• Distinctive expertise.
• Contribution through patents.
For Junior Positions, candidates will be evaluated based on:
• Years of experience.
• Quality and impact of thesis work.
• Number of research publications in the field of regenerative medicine and/or liver.
• Relevance of the research field on which they were last working.
• Potential for fresh research ideas that may be of interest to ILBS.
• Assessment of whether the Institute will benefit from the inputs received from the young researcher.
• Possession of a unique technique.
• Specific know-how or expertise.
