The Karnataka School Education Department has removed the Bachelor of Education (BEd) qualification as an eligibility criterion for Paper 1 of the Karnataka Teachers Eligibility Test (KARTET) 2025. This change affects candidates aiming to teach Classes 1 to 5. Registration for KARTET 2025 closes on November 9 .
The department issued a correction to its October 18 notification. The earlier provision, allowing candidates with a minimum of 50% marks in graduation and a BEd degree (passed or pursuing) for Paper 1, has been withdrawn.

The revised eligibility criteria for KARTET 2025 Paper 1 now exclude the BEd degree. This adjustment aligns with guidelines for primary level teaching. Candidates must meet specific diploma or elementary education degree requirements to qualify for Paper 1.
