Gujarat NEET PG 2025: 6 PwBD Centers Open, BJMC Ahmedabad Appeals

Six disability centers have been established across Gujarat for candidates seeking Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) certificates for Gujarat NEET PG 2025 counselling. BJ Medical College (BJMC), Ahmedabad, will serve as the medical appeal board for these assessments.

The Admission Committee for Professional Post Graduate Medical Courses (ACPPGMEC) announced the setup of these centers. This action ensures compliance with a Supreme Court order making evaluation by state disability boards mandatory for candidates applying for PwBD seats under the 85% state quota.

Disability Certification Process

Candidates with benchmark disabilities must hold a valid Unique Disability ID (UDID) card. This card is issued by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD).

Eligibility for PwBD admission in postgraduate medical courses also requires meeting standard NEET PG criteria. Certification procedures adhere to National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines for 2025.

Mandatory Board Visit for State Quota

All candidates applying for a PwBD seat within the 85% state quota must visit a designated state disability board. This visit is mandatory to obtain the required disability certificate.

Evaluations at these boards follow strict NMC guidelines for the 2025 counselling cycle. Certificates must be generated by these specific state centers.

Candidates seeking PwBD seats under the All India Quota (AIQ) must obtain certificates from centers designated by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Medical Appeal Board

BJ Medical College (BJMC), Ahmedabad, has been designated as the PwBD medical appeal board for Gujarat NEET PG counselling 2025. This board handles appeals regarding disability assessments.

Candidates disputing an initial disability evaluation can approach the BJMC appeal board for a review. The board’s decision will be final for these assessments.

Required Documents for PwBD Certificate

Eligible candidates must submit three documents to obtain their PwBD certificate. These are essential for verification and certificate generation.

  • NEET PG result card: Must show the candidate’s eligibility for the postgraduate medical course.
  • Valid UDID card: Issued by a designated medical authority under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD).
  • Self-certified affidavit: This document must follow the specific format provided on the official website, medadmgujarat.org.

For disabilities other than Locomotor, Hearing, Visual, and SLD/Cognitive, candidates need a valid UDID card and a self-certified affidavit under the “Others” category. This is specified in the MCC notice.

Certificate Generation Process

The designated disability centers generate the PwBD certificate. This process uses information from the candidate’s UDID card, the self-certified affidavit, and confirmed eligibility criteria.

The final certificate adheres to NMC guidelines and confirms the candidate’s benchmark disability status for admission purposes.

Gujarat PwBD Medical Boards

Six civil hospitals across Gujarat are designated PwBD Medical Boards. These centers are responsible for evaluating candidates and issuing disability certificates for the 85% state quota seats.

Candidates must obtain their certificates from one of these state-approved centers for state quota admissions.
