The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has set the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2025 exam date. The CTET exam for the December 2025 session will take place on February 8, 2026 . Official registration and the information bulletin will be released soon on the CTET website, ctet.nic.in.
CBSE conducts the CTET examination twice each year. The test is administered offline across 132 cities nationwide. Candidates can choose to take the exam in one of twenty languages.
The Supreme Court mandates the TET exam for individuals aspiring to become teachers. However, prospective and current teachers hired before the RTE Act are exempt if they have less than five years of employment remaining.
CTET Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be Indian citizens. Specific education qualifications apply for Paper 1 and Paper 2:
Paper 1 (Classes 1-5 Teacher)
- Class 12 with 50% or 45% marks, AND
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or Education, OR
- 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education, OR
- Bachelor’s degree AND a BEd.
Paper 2 (Classes 6-8 Teacher)
- Graduation with 50% or 40% marks, AND
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or BEd, OR
- 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education, OR
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks, AND
- Cleared or appearing in the final year of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed.

- Provide scanned copies of a signature and photograph in the specified format.
