Meliá Hotels and Les Roches Launch New Hospitality Talent Program

Meliá Hotels International and Les Roches have partnered to launch a specialized talent program. The initiative will integrate custom Meliá curriculum into Les Roches’ hospitality degrees. This program aims to identify global talent and ensure their direct career entry into Meliá Hotels International.

Meliá Future Talent Program Details

The new initiative is called the “Meliá Future Talent Program.” Students enrolled in Les Roches’ Bachelor of Science in Global Hospitality Management, postgraduate, and master’s programs are eligible. Participants will follow Les Roches’ established academic model, but with Meliá-specific additions.

During their studies, these students will temporarily separate from the main student group. They will focus on content tailored to Meliá’s operational standards and strategic needs. The program includes a dedicated specialization semester, providing in-depth training relevant to the hotel group.

Exclusive Internships and Job Commitment

A core component of the program involves professional internships. All bachelor’s, postgraduate, and master’s students in the talent program will complete their internships exclusively at Meliá hotels. These placements will occur at Meliá properties located worldwide.

Upon graduation, successful students will receive a career commitment from Meliá Hotels International. This commitment guarantees a minimum of three years of employment. The offer is subject to the graduate’s performance and the company’s staffing requirements at the time of graduation.

Leadership Perspectives

Carlos Díez de la Lastra, CEO of Les Roches, commented on the alliance. He stated the model confirms a shared commitment to talent development and employability. Díez de la Lastra highlighted that the partnership spans Les Roches’ entire academic offering. He described the collaboration as a milestone between academic institutions and companies, designed to anticipate market needs.

Díez de la Lastra also stated the program ensures a consistent supply of highly skilled professionals. He noted that education adds value to company strategy, with skilled teams driving innovation, efficiency, and productivity in the industry.

Gabriel Escarrer Jaume, Chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, also addressed the agreement. He explained it allows Meliá to recruit a new generation of talent. This talent will be trained for Meliá’s specific strategic requirements and possess a global mindset. Escarrer Jaume added that the partnership with Les Roches strengthens Meliá’s capacity to attract and retain professionals who will contribute to the company’s future.

Program Goals and Industry Impact

The program’s primary goal is to integrate trained individuals directly into Meliá’s global operations. It seeks to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industry demands. By tailoring curriculum and providing practical experience, the partnership aims to produce graduates ready for immediate roles.

This collaboration reflects a growing trend in the hospitality sector. Companies are increasingly partnering with educational institutions to cultivate a skilled workforce. This approach ensures graduates possess the exact skills and cultural understanding needed for specific corporate environments.
