Examination Schedule and Timings
The NIOS Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for the October 2025 session will be conducted over a five-day period. The full examination schedule runs from October 14 to October 18 . Students must consult their individual date sheets for specific subject timings on subsequent days.
All examinations for this session are held in an afternoon timeframe. Papers begin at 2:30 pm and conclude at 5:30 pm . This three-hour duration is provided for students to complete their respective question papers.
A mandatory 15-minute reading period precedes the writing portion of the exam. This dedicated time slot is from 2:15 pm to 2:30 pm . During this period, candidates are permitted only to read through the question paper. Writing answers or making any marks on the answer sheet is strictly prohibited until the official start time.
Reporting to Examination Centers
Students must arrive at their designated examination centers well in advance of the scheduled exam start. Candidates should report at least 30 minutes before the examination begins. This early arrival facilitates smooth entry procedures and helps students avoid any potential last-minute stress or logistical issues.
Mandatory Hall Ticket and Entry Guidelines
The NIOS hall ticket serves as the official entry document for all candidates. Examination authorities at each center will conduct a thorough verification of every student’s hall ticket. Entry into the examination hall will be strictly denied to any candidate who fails to produce a valid and verified hall ticket.
Students can download their NIOS 2025 hall ticket directly from the official NIOS website. The designated online portal for accessing and downloading hall tickets is sdmis.nios.ac.in . Candidates are advised to download their hall ticket well in advance of their exam date.
NIOS Board Exam Results 2025
The National Institute of Open School anticipates the declaration of examination results approximately seven weeks following the final examination date. This timeline provides an estimated period for evaluation and processing.
Results for the October 2025 session will be made available exclusively on the official NIOS website. The board maintains a policy of not entertaining individual inquiries regarding the specific date of result declaration. Results will be published on the website immediately upon their official release.
Certificate Distribution for Successful Candidates
Successful candidates will receive essential academic documents. These include a mark-sheet-cum-certificate and a migration-cum-transfer certificate. These vital documents are issued directly to students through their respective Accredited Institutions (AIs).
In instances where an Accredited Institution (AI) has been cancelled or is no longer operational, the relevant regional center of NIOS will manage the distribution. In such cases, the documents will be dispatched by post. They will be sent to the residential addresses that are officially registered with NIOS.
Examination Fee Information
The examination fees previously paid by candidates establish their eligibility to appear for the theory examination. This payment covers the cost associated with taking the test.
Students are not required to make any additional payments at the examination center for their theory papers. This applies provided the candidate meets all other stipulated eligibility criteria for participation in the examination.
