Delhi Ladli Scheme

Scholarship Amount

₹11,000

About This Scholarship

The Delhi Ladli Scheme is a significant initiative launched by the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Delhi. Its primary objective is to empower female children by promoting their birth, preventing female feticide, and ensuring their education. The scheme aims to encourage girls to complete their schooling up to Class 12.

Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided in the form of a long-term fixed deposit. The specific amount varies based on certain conditions, such as the place of birth and the educational stage of the girl child. For instance, a girl child born in a hospital/nursing home in the NCT of Delhi may receive ₹11,000, while those born outside might receive ₹10,000. Additionally, financial support of ₹5,000 is provided upon admission to Class 1, 5, 9, or 12, or after passing Class 10.

It is important to note that these deposits are made in the name of the girl child and can only be encashed after she turns 18 years old and has successfully passed at least Class 10. Parent(s) or guardian(s) are responsible for claiming subsequent periodical fixed deposits by presenting necessary academic documents and attendance certificates from a government-recognized school.
