About This Scholarship

The AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme is a significant initiative by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), specifically designed to empower specially abled students pursuing technical education. This scholarship provides crucial financial assistance to students with a benchmark disability of not less than 40%, ensuring they can access and complete their degree or diploma programs in AICTE-approved institutions without undue financial burden.

Selected students will receive financial assistance to support their studies, helping to cover various educational expenses and promoting inclusive growth in technical education.

The application deadline for this scheme is October 31, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be an Indian national
  • belong to a specially-abled category with a benchmark disability of not less than 40%
  • Be admitted to the first or second year (through lateral entry) of a degree/diploma program in a current-year AICTE-approved institution
  • have a family income of less than ₹8,00,000 per annum

Required Documents

  • Copy of Marksheets from Class 10 and 12 (as applicable)
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Income Certificate issued by the State/UT Government for the preceding financial year
  • Admission letter for a degree/diploma program issued by the Directorate of Technical Education
  • Receipt of tuition fee payment
  • Copy of a bank account passbook seeded with an Aadhaar Card showing the applicant's photograph, account number, and IFSC code
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • A duly signed declaration by parents confirming the accuracy of the information provided in the application form (if applicable)

How to Apply

Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship by following these steps:-
Step 1: Visit the official National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at https://scholarships.gov.in/.
Step 2: If you are a new user, click on the 'New user? Register yourself' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard. If already registered, proceed to login.
Step 3: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Next' button.
Step 4: Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit to complete the initial registration process.
Step 5: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process. (Note:• This is a temporary registration number; students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to complete the OTR process.)
Step 6: After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
Step 7: Select the scholarship, fill in all required details, upload the necessary documents, and submit your application.

Note:- All applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.

A total of 10,000 scholarships are available each year, with 5,000 awarded for diploma programs and 5,000 for degree programs. In addition to this, AICTE extends scholarships to all eligible female applicants from 13 specific Union Territories and North Eastern States who submit an online application, ensuring wider reach and support.

This includes individuals who have been orphaned or lost a parent due to COVID-19, wards of Armed Forces and Central Paramilitary Forces personnel martyred in action (Shaheed), and wards of parents suffering from critical life-threatening diseases or severe disabilities (above 80% in an accident). The scheme aims to ensure that these students can pursue and complete their technical education without financial constraints, providing a path to a brighter future.

Selected candidates will receive a lump sum amount annually to cover various educational expenses, including college fees, computer purchases, stationery, books, equipment, and software. The scholarship duration is tailored to the program length, offering support for a maximum of four years for Degree students and three years for Diploma students. Students already in higher years (2nd, 3rd, or 4th) will receive the scholarship for their remaining years of study.

  • be a ward impacted by COVID-19 (i.e., lost one or both parents due to COVID-19) or a ward of Armed Forces and Central Paramilitary Forces personnel martyred in action (Shaheed) or a ward of a PwD (above 80% in accident) or a ward of a parent suffering from critical life threatening disease
  • be enrolled full-time in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of a regular degree or diploma program at an AICTE-approved institution
  • have a family income of less than ₹8,00,000 per annum

Note:- Applicants must not be receiving any other central/state government/AICTE-sponsored scholarships at the time of application.
