The Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 began nationwide today, October 13, 2025 . Over 25 lakh students from 3 lakh schools are participating in the innovation event. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the buildathon via live stream.
Deepak Bagla of the Atal Innovation Mission also joined the inauguration. Students in classes 6 to 12 were eligible to participate. The event takes place from 10 AM to 12 PM.
Participation and Evaluation
Students present their innovations live from their school premises. A panel of experts will evaluate all entries. Project registration closed on October 11, 2025 .
Awards and Support
An awards pool of Rs. 1 Crore awaits winners. This includes 10 national level winners, 100 state level winners, and 1000 district level winners. Winners will be announced in January 2026 .
Participating schools and students will receive long-term support. This includes corporate donations, mentorship, and resources to develop their innovations further.
Event Focus
The buildathon aims to foster hands-on learning, aligning with the National Education Policy 2020. It targets inclusive participation. Special focus areas include Aspirational Districts, Tribal, and Remote Regions. The event represents the world’s largest live student innovation activity.
