The NSP Centrally Sponsored Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students (Class 9 and 10), Mizoram 2025-26, is a vital initiative by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. It aims to provide financial assistance to eligible Scheduled Tribe (ST) students in Mizoram who are enrolled in Classes 9 or 10. Selected candidates will receive a significant annual scholarship along with additional grants. The scholarship provides a consolidated allowance, including a monthly scholarship for 10 months and grants for books and other ad hoc expenses. Day scholars can receive up to ₹2,250 annually for the scholarship component and ₹750 for books, while hostelers can receive up to ₹5,250 annually for the scholarship and ₹1,000 for books.

Furthermore, Divyangjan students are entitled to an additional monthly grant of ₹800 (₹9,600 annually) if residing in a hostel, or ₹600 (₹7,200 annually) if they are day scholars. This additional support is also extended to leprosy-cured students and those with sickle cell anemia or thalassemia, upon submission of the necessary medical certificates. Disability must be certified by a competent medical authority as defined by the Act.

The application deadline for this scholarship is October 31, 2025. It is crucial for all interested applicants to submit their forms before this date.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

• be an Indian national
• be a domicile of Mizoram
• belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community
• be a regular full-time student studying in Class 9 or 10 in a government school or a school recognised by the Government or a Central/State Board of Secondary Education
• have an annual family income of less than ₹2,50,000
• not be receiving any other centrally-funded Pre-Matric Scholarship

Note:- If a student is awarded two scholarships simultaneously, they may choose one and must formally communicate their preference to the awarding authorities through their institution's head.

• Passport-sized photograph
• Aadhaar number
• Domicile certificate
• Caste certificate issued by a competent state authority
• Family income certificate
• Disability certificate (if applicable)

Note:-

• State or Union Territories may determine the specific procedures and authorities responsible for issuing certificates.
• Self-declarations or affidavits of self-assessed income will not be accepted. State governments must establish designated authorities to issue income certificates.

How to Apply

Eligible applicants can apply through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) by following these steps:

1. Visit the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) (scholarships.gov.in).
2. If you are a new user, click on the 'New Registration' button.
3. Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Next' button.
4. Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit to complete the initial registration process.
5. Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process.
Note: This is a temporary registration number. Students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to complete the OTR process.
6. After successful registration and OTR completion, log in to your NSP account using your Application ID and password.
7. Navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option.
8. Select the relevant scholarship scheme, fill in all the required details in the application form, and upload the necessary documents.
9. Review your application thoroughly and click on 'Final Submit'.

Note: All applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.
