About This Scholarship

The NSP Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme for NER 2025-26 offers significant financial support to students from the North-Eastern Region of India. The application deadline for this scheme is October 31, 2025.

Up to 10,000 selected candidates will receive a generous stipend of ₹8,000 per month for a duration of 10 months, amounting to ₹80,000 annually.

The scholarship amount will be directly disbursed to the beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Be an Indian citizen.
• Be a domicile of the North-Eastern Region (NER).
• Have successfully passed Class 12 (or equivalent examination) in the preceding year. This qualification must be from a school situated within the NER and affiliated with a recognised Board of Education. Recognised boards include:
• Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
• Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE)
• National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)
• Have secured admission in the first year of a general degree, technical, professional, medical, or paramedical course (including integrated courses) in a recognised college, university, or institute located anywhere in India.
• The annual family income from all sources must be below ₹4,50,000.

Note regarding slot allocation:
• 50% of the available scholarship slots in each category are specifically reserved for programs in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, and Management disciplines.
• The remaining 50% of the slots are allocated for programs in Science, Engineering & Technology, Medical, Technical, Agriculture, and Forestry fields.

Required Documents

Applicants are required to submit the following documents with their application:

• Academic transcripts, which include marksheets and certificates from previous examinations.
• Caste certificate, if applicable to the applicant's category.
• Domicile certificate of the applicant, issued by the competent authority.
• Income proof, also issued by the competent authority, verifying the family's annual income.
• Disability certificate, if applicable to the applicant.

How to Apply

Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship by following these steps:

1. Access the application portal by clicking on the 'Apply Now' button on the official website.
2. If you are a new user, click on the 'Register' button and proceed to fill in the required registration details. If you are an existing user, log in using your Gmail, mobile number, or email ID.
3. On the dashboard, navigate to the left-hand side and click on the 'Students' option.
4. Locate and click on the 'Login' button under the OTR (One-Time Registration) option. This step is mandatory for applying for any scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
5. For new users on NSP, click on 'New user? Register yourself' on the left-hand side of the dashboard.
6. Carefully read all the details provided, tick the checkbox to confirm your understanding, and then click on the 'Next' button.
7. Enter a functional mobile number, the displayed captcha code, and the OTP received on your mobile number. Submit these details to complete the initial registration process.
8. Fill in all the required personal and academic details and click on 'Save & Register' to finalise the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process. Please note that this is a temporary registration number; students will need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to fully complete the OTR process.
9. After successfully completing registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
10. Select the specific scholarship you wish to apply for, fill in all the necessary details in the application form, upload the required supporting documents, and finally, submit your application.

• All applicants are strongly advised to fill in the information correctly and accurately on the application form.
• Once the application is submitted, no changes or modifications can be made.
