About This Scholarship

The Japan-IMF Scholarship Program for Asia (JISPA) • Ph.D. Track 2025 is jointly funded by the Government of Japan and administered by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, an applicant must:
• be a national of an eligible Asian or Pacific country
• hold a strong academic record with a Master’s degree in economics or a related field
• have not obtained a Master’s Degree from outside their own country
• be admitted to a Ph.D. program in economics at a leading university

Note: Priority will be given to:
• Applicants under 36 years of age.
• Applicants having a minimum of 2 years of work experience in the public sector at the time of application.
