Karnataka PGCET 2025: Round 1 Deadlines Extended to Oct 9

BENGALURU – The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has extended the deadlines for Karnataka PGCET 2025 Round 1 counselling. Students now have until 11 AM on October 9 to complete choice filling and until 4 PM on October 9 to pay admission fees via challan.

The original deadline for choice filling was October 7. The admission fee payment was previously set for October 8. This revision impacts candidates who received seat allotments in the first round of counselling for postgraduate courses.

Revised Deadlines for Round 1 Counselling

KEA announced the new dates via a notification on the official Karnataka PGCET exam website. These extensions aim to provide students with more time to complete the necessary steps following their seat allotments.

  • Choice Filling: Candidates must submit their preferred choices by October 9, 2025, 11:00 AM . This process follows the release of Round 1 seat allotment results.
  • Admission Fee Payment: The fee for allotted colleges, applicable to those selecting Choice 1 or Choice 2, must be paid by October 9, 2025, 4:00 PM . Payments are exclusively accepted through challan.

Reason for Extension

The KEA has not provided an official reason for the schedule change. However, the extension is widely attributed to potential difficulties students faced while attempting online fee payments. The authority seeks to ensure all eligible candidates can complete their admissions process without technical hindrances.

No Further Changes Expected

KEA has explicitly stated that no further changes will be made to these revised deadlines for Round 1 choice filling and fee payment. Students must adhere strictly to the new schedule. The last date for reporting to the allotted colleges remains unchanged, irrespective of these deadline adjustments.

Upcoming Round 2 Counselling Schedule

Following the conclusion of Round 1 counselling, KEA will release the detailed schedule for the second round. Several categories of candidates are eligible to participate in Round 2:

  • Candidates who selected ‘Choice 2’ in Round 1 (accepted the allotted seat but wish to participate in subsequent rounds for a better option).
  • Candidates who selected ‘Choice 3’ in Round 1 (rejected the allotted seat but are eligible for further rounds).
  • Candidates who did not secure any seat allotment in the first round of counselling.

Students are advised to regularly check the KEA website for the official announcement of the Round 2 counselling dates and detailed instructions.
